    day.break Charts in iTunes Top 20 & D.C. Recap

    Last night was bananas! Bohemian caverns was all a glow with folks from Muhsinah past, coming out to show support for the record release. J Laine did his thing on the drums and DJ 2-Tone Jones got in one the action with some impromptu cuts and scratches. At the end of her set Muhsinah set the microphone down and more or less told folks to step up. Then she retired to her bench behind the keyboard and showed folks why they call her The Golden Girl.

    D.C. emcees Y.U., Ben Cooper III, and Oddisee & Kev Brown of Low Budget fam all stepped up and dropped a gem or 2 while Muhsinah got her improvisational piana-kees on which made for a night we won’t soon forget.

    The cherry on top of the sundae (pun intended) was waking up to find that ccording to NexusRadio.com Muhsinah’s day.break charts among the top 20 of this week’s Top 100 iTunes releases, this weekend. Big tings a gwon!

    There comes a point in every successful musician’s career when you get a the shear sign that you’re on way. Sometimes it’s a simple as waking up in the morning, rolling out of bed and reading about yourself in the paper, while sipping youre morning herbal tea.If you’re lucky you’re the “Editor’s Pick” even. *blink*Fat shout out to Rhome Anderson!     So it looks like the folks at okayplayer.com have full blown Muhsinah madness, and rightly so. Since the record hit itunes on tuesday it’s receive all kinds of love, but none more visible than that from okayplayer. They gave day.break a shining review on wednesday, a mention in thursday’s news and today… this full featured artist profile and photo. Gah-lee guys! Much appreciated.I suppose that’s just in time for tonight’s listening event, in none other than the city of brotherly love. Philly stand up!
